The grocery stores were remarkably quiet for the day before a threatened blizzard.

Some days are just made for listening to Pink Floyd bootlegs.

So, there's a teaser trailer for a Logan's Run remake that looks like an absolute fake, AI generated piece of crap. The question is: is it a fake trailer, or is the movie going to be an absolute fake, AI generated piece of crap?

Don't forget: we're in a period of date palindrome right now. (5.23.25, for instance.) Prepare yourselves accordingly.

You know what no one asks for anymore? Cover letters when you're applying for a job. I finally get to the point where I'm good at writing them, and no one cares. Another useless skill.

Ain't gonna lie, feeling pretty manly today. Got out the reel mower (powered only by Robert) for the first time this season, and it was frozen solid. So I got out the socket set and the three-in-one oil, put in a metric fuckton (fapton, imperial), and it worked just fine. I deserve a beer, right?

Well, the time finally came. I mowed my lawn for the first time this season. Feh.

For anyone in this neck of the woods, who follows such things like I do, Orion is still shining off the west.

Don't tell @lady-monkberg.bsky.social , but since she had to work late tonight I had boiled eggs for dinner. Put some habanero lime hot sauce on 'em, they were delicious.

Beaucoups of Blues, however, is really good. It's Ringo's first Country album, with good (sad) songs and excellent backing, and Ringo's voice is really suited to this kind of material. Worth checking out.

Was feelin' kind of Ringo this morning (it being April and Beatles season, after all) so I put on his first two solo albums. Sentimental Journey, the Nose warbling pre-rock standards, is fine. Not as awful as its reputation, but fine.

Today's my mom's birthday. She's not around to celebrate with us anymore, but usually we go out to Chinese food, because she liked it. Wednesday birthdays are tough, though, so I just made some spicy rice noodles at home.

Let's run a little experiment, shall we? I don't much like my job since my firm got bought out. (That part is true.) Does anyone have any leads on new ones? (This is to see if I'm swamped with bots trying to get info about me. @aahznotoz.bsky.social can tell you about this.)

Whew! I get to keep my old man card. My 2025 car license sticker showed up in time for me to get it on before the month that's on the sticker. Does this mean I'm living in the future now?

One of the many ways in which it's obvious that I'm an old man: for the past decade or so, I not only have gotten my car tags on before the enforcement date, but I've gotten them on before the month on 'em. (Which is April.) The site was done before, so I might not manage in 2025. Young again!

Watched Blues Brothers with @lady-monkberg.bsky.social tonight, which always makes me kinda miss Chicago.

Almost certainly the only time I'll get this picture from a car of mine. With the last car, like most people, I passed that milestone while driving. I just happened to be stopped for this. Meaning? None at all. But look! An even odometer number!

A work friend brought in some non-alcoholic spirits, and it was my chance to try them. They smelled not unlike real alcohol, but had almost no taste at all. Interesting.

Here is the email I got after trying to write an #amazon.com review mentioning that a product wasn't worth the money they were charging. Remember when reading Amazon reviews: apparently anything mentioning issues such as sellers, delivery, packaging and pricing won't make it to your screen.

A whole new platform, yet there's still no escaping... Monday pun-day! When I was younger I spent some time checking out laid-back religious groups, but I ended up deciding that casual sects wasn't for me.

Apparently I'm here, too.
