Al Franken was the most effective fighter against Trump and Trumpism the Democrats had. Blacklisting him over a scandal that was a pure put-up job was an act of political self-destruction to keep your pretty pink hands clean. Talent matters more than dependable votes.

Along with 151 other people. What makes the Harpers Letter unbearable to a certain type of person is the impeccable left/liberal credentials of the signatories. Anyway, it's always useful when people alert you that they ought to be blocked.

I had gotten The Heartbreak Kid mixed up in my mind with A New Leaf, and when I saw A New Leaf again was surprised the scenes weren't in it, but didn't know what movie they came from until I saw The Heartbreak Kid again. I think I saw it first on the Z Channel.

I had a similar example of movie deja vu recently. For years I've been trying to see Elaine May's version of The Heartbreak Kid which is for some reason not generally available. I finally did get to see a screening, and I realized I had seen it long ago, but had forgotten it was The Heartbreak Kid.

My sister had a long career with the Department of the Interior, and what she said about the Republican Secretaries of the Interior is that they treated the government as if it were a business they owned. Trump thinks of himself as a sole propreitor. She thought Haaland was the best she worked for.
