Apple TV wouldn’t cancel a Gilligan show after 1 season given his reputation and all the $$ they spent. And there is no way he can wrap this up in 2 episodes. BB wasn’t popular right away. It built its audience slowly. Pluribus will at least win Emmy’s and that will keep it going for a few years.

Tom, you realize that this season is only the 1st of several, right? BB was 5 seasons, with several “slow” episodes (the fly, anyone?). Gilligan has the luxury of taking time to tell his story. I trust him. Not every episode must be plot driven. Motivation will add depth to future plot developments.

Thanks for the further explanation. Producing text with the lowest possible information content is the key factor, I guess. Otherwise, you could argue that, using *all* available sources could lead to an innovative result as the “next logical word.”

Honest question, Andrew. I’m certainly no expert, but is it possible that an LLM model could create something original by researching, consolidating and synthesizing thousands, even millions, of sources to form a new consensus opinion. Isn’t this what an original human author does with research?

The problem is that you have to be a certain kind of Type A narcissistic asshole that doesn’t care about people to acquire that much wealth to begin with. It’s all about the game for them and wealth is the way to keep score.
