Jake Lahut, a Wired reporter who from the Nancy Mace airport story last week, was among those fired.
During the incident, CN's HR chief asked staff not to congregate outside his office. Lahut asked "what's your definition of congregating?" and was let go later on Wednesday.

One thing on this thats more clear from reporting: I said Jen Hall was allied with Tim Dunn, but most everyone I’ve talked to has said her loyalty is far more to the party than to any of its factions (including it’s Dunn-funded current leaders). Which makes her sudden exit all the more perplexing.

All to say that this is VERY interesting news, and I will report back as soon as I get more clarity on what, exactly, prompted Hall's "can't in good conscience" comments.

Since then, the party has been consumed by new tensions over the push by George, et al to use censures to decide who can and can't run in primaries. The decision was HIGHLY controversial and seemingly hamfisted -- but still, Jen Hall stuck with party leadership.

That aforementioned Texas GOP civil war intensified after I reported that a top operative for the Dunn/Farris Wilks wing of the party has secretly hosted Nick Fuentes. Also seen outside that meeting: Party Chairman Matt Rinaldi and.... Jen Hall, who stuck with the party's far right amid the scandal.
Some important background: That Texas scandal came after we photo'd Nick Fuentes leaving the offices of Pale Horse Strategies, a far-right consulting firm run by the top operative for far-right billionaires Tim Dunn and Farris Wilks.
Influential Texas activist Jonathan Stickland hosted white supremacist Nick Fuentes at office near Fort Worth - The Texas Tribune
The Texas Tribune also observed Texas GOP chair Matt Rinaldi outside the building, but he denied meeting Fuentes and denounced him.
