We’re almost there already

Never listen to the google info-box about wine. Here it happily grabs the blend for Clerc Milon’s top wine and presents it as the blend of the second.

First time drinking Rhys. This was phenomenal. Glad to have caught it at such a fine moment in its lifespan.

I wonder how much of this is composition effects. In the early part of the used Tesla price chart, the used Tesla market would have been dominated by the more expensive Model S. After the the pandemic-era rise in used car prices, cheaper MSRP Model 3s and Ys are being sold by 1st/2nd owners.

Excellent showing from $15 bordeaux that spent much (most?) of its life aging on a store shelf

A delicious reminder that Bordeaux in less-than-classic years can still mature into something beautiful, fresh, and balanced

Some wines. The Carlisle was really beautiful. Tannats in pic #2 were really nice too.

Some interesting wines this week. The pinot, zin, and tannat (my first from Argentina) were very pretty and elegant. Luckily with some air the tannat’s harshest green notes dropped out to reveal some great dark floral and red fruit notes. And the port still has lots of room to grow.

I’m not sure. Confusingly, non-calc math could be both easier or harder (and more proof-based than calc). Easier if they take one of the non-calc classes listed here collegecatalog.uchicago.edu/thecollege/m.... Harder if they test out of calc, take a harder course, then receive back credit for calc

It’s not quite as rigid as Columbia’s core curriculum. There are numerous options for any given sub-requirement within the core curriculum. collegecatalog.uchicago.edu/thecollege/t...

100 units per class, with most majors being 11-14 classes. My history major was 12 courses

A few weeks ago I got a tour of the wonderful old vines—mostly zinfandel with some petite sirah—at the intersection of First Ave and Hagen in Napa. Each year the fruit from these vines goes into ~1 barrel of homemade wine.
