I'm absolutely thrilled with the new Night Sky piece I created. 😊

This is the first time I've cast an elk print — or any other print. I'm thrilled with the results. ☺️

I'm hoping to incorporate the cast into a multimedia project. 🤞

On Wednesday, I set up my tent at the Jasper Farmers Market 🎪across from the library.

I'll be at there every week selling wilderness 🌲inspired art, jewelry, stickers, sun catchers, and other cool stuff. If you're in the area, I'd love to see you. Conversation and shade are always free. ☺

My very first attempt at resin molds. Many lessons were learned.

People might comprehend a million, but a billion overwhelms the mind: One million seconds is about 11.5 days. One billion seconds is about 31 years and 8 months.

She didn't attend protests. She didn't write books. She didn't run marathons. This is my grandmother/mother, and she is the strongest woman I've ever known.

Happy International Women's Day!

Day 9: Favourite book to give as a gift

This one's easy. The Boy, the Mole, the Fox, and the Horse

Everyone needs this book!

Day 8: Series everyone should read

This one’s hard, so I’ll return to a classic: The Dragon Riders of Pern. It’s been decades since I read it. I’m not even sure if I would still like it, but at the time it transported me into another world. I remember it more clearly than any other series.

Day 6: Best audiobook to listen to on a long road trip

Blackwater by Michael McDowell

I was immersed in this world and these characters for all 30 hours and 9 minutes.😁

Day 6: Book that broke your heart.

A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara😥 No contest.

Day 5: Favourite classic novel

I think of classic as pre-1900, so "Oliver Twist" stands out, my Dickens fave. "To Kill a Mockingbird" (1961) is a perfect book, not a word out of place. But I'll stretch it to 1981 and pick "A Confederacy of Dunces," exquisite characterization, gorgeous language.

30-Day Book Challenge: Day 4
Folk of the Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton

As a kid, I had a lot going on in my young life, so I struggled with isolation, anxiety & bullying. Not surprisingly I loved books that portrayed close friends going on magical adventures.

Current reads:
I'm listening to The Next Civil War. Among the surprises are Marche's depictions of the growing threat of armed militia groups. It's like something out of Hollywood.
The House that Horror Build is the first fiction I've been able to read since 2020. It feels like a bit of a miracle.

This is my second batch of mail order seeds. I have 3 goals this year: 1. To start all my plants except potatoes and onions from seed. 2. To save seeds from every seed variety I start. 3. To try a few varieties, I’ve never tried before because that’s one of the many joys of growing plants from seed.

What the #UCP is doing is beyond reprehensible. While everyone's attention is on the Trump/Musk debacle, the UCP is taking away #Albertans' public healthcare.
