Canadian Conservatives, alas, were not thrashed, but they did lose. It was a pretty close election.

I voted against the man many called Myron Baloney, who came in due course to be widely despised and who left his party in ruins. He did not win the popular vote but nevertheless claimed a mandate for Free Trade. And now the elephant has rolled over, as Trudeau Père famously warned us could happen.
