I made some pretty good progress this week on my Giraffe painting. The background, tree and birds are done and next week I can start the final layer on the mother and baby Giraffes.

I made pretty good progress this week, just not as much as I had hoped. I'll start next week with the 2nd color layer on the wonderful textures of the dead tree.

The underpainting layer is done! I thought painting stripes on a Zebra was intense, spots on a Giraffe rivals that.

Tomorrow's work will continue with the fun layer, the overpainting layer. Let the magic begin!

Two down two more to go. My goal is to finish these four pieces by the end of March. The Scissor-tailed Flycatcher and Cardinal paintings are completed. I just started drawing the Grizzly Bear and the Giraffes are ready for color.

A walk down memory lane! While cleaning out my mother's house getting it ready to go on the market we unearthed a few of my drawings from high school. Ive wanted to draw and paint wildlife for as long as I can remember. I feel pretty darn lucky to be able do what I dreamed of as a kid.

Finishing up the week with completing the underpainting layer of my little Cardinal perched on a cactus. I should be able to finish this up by the end of next week.
