The National Hurricane Center says as of 11 am on October 22, 2025, some of Melissa's cloud top temps over the Caribbean Sea are lower than -130 degrees Fahrenheit! Why then is it still just a tropical storm as of October 22nd? Let's examine the wind shear. @gulfcoastnewsnow.bsky.social

Humberto, not the system that will become Imelda and move parallel to Florida in the coming days, strengthened into a cat 5 hurricane over the open Atlantic Ocean on Saturday. There continues to be no wind or storm surge threat to the United States from this system. @gulfcoastnewsnow.bsky.social
