Looks like Gemini 3 is now out, going to give it a red hot go and see if it can convert my currently long AGENTS.md into a working application with React Native and Expo.

Hopefully I'll be launching an app in a week if all goes well.

AGENTS.md is a simple, open format for guiding coding agents. Think of it as a README for agents.

Been a while, but been mucking around with #gemini over the last few weeks, surprised how capable it is making something passable as an app/website. Editing and debugging still required, but a lot of the bootstrapping is gone.

Having a comprehensive AGENTS.md is vital though.

Screwing around with Gemini CLI a bit more, got a number of ideas to build out, got a good AGENTS.md I've been working on so im hoping i just need to add in the idea brief and the rest is super straight forward.

Been a while. Life has taken priority but managed to roll out a new there for my retro app.

Heaps of apps in progress along with some other exciting stuff

Will try and post some statuses and ideas when I get around to it.

Followed all the steps, set up in my GCP project, permissions and service account are all set up. Still getting an error. Has anyone come across this one before. I feel I'm missing a simple step, but have run through permissions twice now. #revenuecat #googleplay #android

Astro is pretty cool. Chucking together a quick demo using htmx as well and it's pretty powerful in how simple it is. Partials and server side rendering make it pretty quick to whip up a webapp.

Just gave the new AI features in @zed.dev a go, so much better than the other apps this morning. Tied really well in, not just a VS Code clone with extensions.

Going to throw some harder stuff at it, but so far so good. I might be changing default IDE for the first time in 5ish years.

Just tested out Void Editor. No idea if they qa'd it or not but the prompts don't want to edit in file, just chat response.

Autocomplete is same as continue.dev with the same ollama models.

Not sure why vscode forks are all the rage, but this could of literally been an extension, not a new app.

Just finished creating my Google Play developer account. Once step closer to launching a new project. only billing and some UI/UX to go now. #buildinpublic

Slowly realising my "fun" css frontend to my Retro project look like crap.

I'm no designer but I'll slap some bootstrap on it and see if I can pretty it up.

Waiting for the day AI can just design it for me so I can just write code.

Built my last project with Flutter after getting rid of #Nativescript. But checking out #Expo this morning and it looks pretty straight forward. Anyone had any issues/experience with it?
I don't want to think its the solution to everything if it has the same issues as #Flutter.

Need to actually come up with a marketing plan as well sometime this week. I'm assuming the recommendation is to just ask AI? Or does someone have a cheat sheet I can look at?

What's up with the requirement to add in a D-U-N-S number to Google play, never published an app but being in Australia it goes through someone else and I need to update it all. What a mess around #buildinpublic #android

I finally got around to posting about my new Junior Full Stack Dev onboarding project. Its been sitting in drafts for ages, still a bit rough (I'm not a good writer). But it's good to get this stuff on paper eventually.

My New Junior Developer Onboarding Project and Process
We used to throw junior developers into the deep end of the codebase without any guidance. This led to frustration and low productivity. We decided to create a new process that would help junior devel...

Been a while since I've been here. Projects / Code / Blogs took a massive step back whilst I prioritized family stuff.

Hopefully more time on my hands now to finish all those projects and get some more stuff written.

Why doesn't @openrouter.bsky.social have image models? would be super handy.

I guess you would have to retrieve the output as a blob or something rather then them chucking it in an S3 as the scale would be hard to manage within costs

Ollama seems to be losing its gpu acceleration with amd and falling back to CPU. Or just simply not becoming available after some idle time.

Server (behind Tailscale and Traefik) has simply decided not to allow for HTTP(s) traffice, so no access to my remote Code server or AI service.

No idea why, when or how it happened. Not a massive priority to fix though.

About to start looking into implementing RevenueCat for payments in my flutter app (with NestJS Backend).

I'm assuming its good, does anyone else have recommendations? I need the easiest thing possible (because I'm nearing app building burnout)

Google login now working in flutter. Now just storing the jwt and attaching it to all requests to the api and we are in a beta.

Starting to get excited.

Flutter auth ended up being harder than expected.

Not using firebase as I've got my own API, between different certs hidden around the place and error messages that say nothing it's safe to say I'll be working on this for a while.

App is feature complete. (in terms of what it needs to do). Next step, #Auth with #Flutter and #NestJS. Seen some good resources around so I'm hoping that its going to be straight forward.

Then onto monetization with RevenueCat (i think the best solution)

Not long till launch now

Got new business cards designed by @camilajamescj.bsky.social.

Turned out great, new logo and everything. I haven't even thought about a logo for this project in 10 or so years so its always good for a bit of a refresh!

Really happy with the result, makes the side project kinda "official"

Looking at doing some AI generated images for a project, basically an image generated by some user collected data. Apart from OpenAI what are some of the good models.

Not sure if anything text-to-image works with openrouter, but if someone knows if thats wrong let me know.
