Day 7 without power here. We hugely appreciate the work the crews are doing and the challenges they face. However, is it the case that they are now doing emergency remedial work that should’ve been regular maintenance that was neglected over the last five years? Happy to be proved wrong.

Hopefully this crisis will prompt a shift in focus to prevention rather than reaction. Needs big investment in infrastructure though so not holding my breath.

No offence Alan but I can’t wait for the spring when I can stop following you. In the meantime, I can’t stop doom scrolling.
