I really notice this with how my children's friends discuss politics. I know they aren't representative - but it's so much easier for them to access information now.

... again some of this may be the general trend of women being better educated than men - but also presumably an increasing sense of confidence?

I agree with you - I think we should have been offering tax rises because they were the only possible solution to the challenge we face.

I met a man on a Greek island this summer who was planning to illegally put up solar panels where they couldn't be seen, because they were banned on his island!
