bg3 spoilers I guess but gd I woke up with Feelings about Karlach this morning and I just need y'all to understand how important she is
Karlach breaks my heart. She already had me crying in act 2 and hoo boy you should have seen me at the end. And it's not even about what ending she gets. Because the thing is, she has cancer. She has this thing inside her that's killing her. She's dying and there's no cure, not one she wants anything to do with at least. Every time she'd mention her engine and what it would eventually do to her, how she started saying stuff about how she could feel it happening, I could only think about people with terminal diagnoses. And fuck, how she tried to act like she'd come to terms with it and didn't want to live if it meant living in Avernus, but then had that breakdown at the end?? I sobbed. How many sick people have to make a choice like that? Die or live a life you don't want? You don't want to die but the alternative is hell. You can treat your condition but what's the cost? Will you be able to make peace with your life and your body afterward? Fuck, Karlach just got started living life and then had her big bright future ripped away and tried to pretend like she was okay with it. She'd hold on long enough to help save the world and then die with a smile. Except when it was all over and she didn't have that purpose to cling to anymore, just someone she loved, she realized how Not Okay she was with it. There's a lot to be said about bodily autonomy for people without many options left, but all Karlach wanted was to finally make her own choice about her body and what happens to it. And the choice she made, one she thought she was happy with - to die rather than live in Avernus - was an easy one. Until suddenly the end was right in front of her, and it wasn't easy anymore. Breaks my heart.

"Is the door even locked?" The question comes out breathlessly on the heels of a moan, a token protest rather than an objection. "Maybe," Shouta answers. Eyelids fluttering behind those tinted lenses, lower lip being sucked in and bitten, hand clutching Shouta's wrist as if to hold him at bay even as his hips rock forward. No, Shouta would have to be physically pulled away by this point. Hizashi laughs weakly, arousal tinged with nervousness, but makes no move toward caution. "Could have warned me, y'know." "Surprise." They're in the classroom, not even tucked away in a corner or behind a desk - he really had only come to grab some papers but he'd watched Hizashi talk about his day for all of ten seconds before deciding to follow the unusual but certainly not unwelcome desire stirring deep in his gut: immediate gratification. The need to have this man, have him come undone under Shouta's hands, *right now.* And here they are, standing close enough to feel each other's breaths, Hizashi humming these little moans to the tune of the the wet noises made by Shouta's fingers working in and out of him. "Don't you know I hate surprises?" He's dazzling in the late afternoon light, more than usual, all done up with his speaker and jacket and gloves, pants open and loose around his hips. "Seems like you're enjoying this one," Shouta murmurs, low and rough. His fingers, wrist, and forearm are all starting to ache from the angle, but he doesn't even consider pausing to readjust, not with Hizashi practically mounted on his hand, grinding against his palm. "Whatever's gotten into you today," Hizashi pants, hand clutching Shouta's shirt, "I like it." "Yeah?" Shouta leans in and mouths at his earlobe, feels Hizashi shudder. "Gonna come for me?" It's cheating and he knows it, growling in his ear like that while pressing his palm harder against his clit, but who can blame him when Hizashi whimpers and clenches around his fingers. "I really didn't...ah, *fuck*...didn't think you'd be into this. In public and all." "Who says I am?" Hizashi almost doesn't answer, leaning to rest his forehead on Shouta's shoulder and leaving a wet mark on his shirt as he stifles his sounds. "S-seems pretty obvious to me." "Maybe I'm just that into *you.*" That's what does it, the idea that he renders Shouta powerless to keep his hands to himself, and Hizashi bites down and shouts, hips jerking erratically as his walls contract around Shouta's hand. Shouta slows, dragging his fingers out once he feels Hizashi relax but drawing them slowly across his sensitive clit just for the whine and twitch it gets him. Hizashi straightens and pulls Shouta's wet hand up, taking two fingers into his mouth and closing his lips around them, sucking as he pulls them back out. As soon as he'd seen Hizashi's mouth opening to taste himself, Shouta had known he was no longer in control of the situation, and the 'plop' of his fingers sliding free of those lips only solidifies that certainty. "I'll give you a choice," Hizashi says, all smooth and sultry now that he's got Shouta paralyzed. "I could get on my knees for you right here, or we could go home where I could *really* show you a good time."
