In 1980, John Lennon sang: “Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans” (Beautiful Boy). If he were alive today, I think he’d sing: “Life is what happens to you while you’re busy staring at your smartphone”

NYC backyard brunch. Halloween-themed brunch cocktail created in Detroit in 1916 — the Last Word cocktail, which I think sounds ominous. Plymouth gin + Chartreuse Verte + Luxardo Maraschino liqueur + fresh lime juice. Ran out of cherries, but I had cranberries in freezer, so brandied cranberries

I went to the No Kings peaceful protest march here in NYC yesterday. In these times, it’s good to get off the damn apps for a minute, and get on these streets. When the history of these times is written, let the record show that not all Americans stayed quiet #nokings #nokingsnyc

🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ Every Saturday I walk to grocery, pass through Stonewall National Monument — nation’s first & only national monument for LGBTQ rights & history (thank u, President Obama!). Locked! What — Why??? Then it dawned on me… Locked up because Republicans shut down govt rather than fund healthcare

They’ve had blue states propping up failed red state economies in this country. Now they have us propping up international failed red economies. Now we are subsidizing Argentina to suspend their tax on exports — so China buys soy beans from Argentina, none from US in Trump tariffs war 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Scumbag Trump cut health & food for American people. Now makes us pay to prop up Argentina’s failed economy, allowing Argentina to suspend tax on exports, so China buys more soybeans from Argentina — while soybean sales from US farmers to China has dropped from $12.6 Billion to ZERO in tariff war

RIP, our sweet Agnes. I know you are at peace now, reunited with your sister Opal. We all miss you both terribly!

Over the last few days, her health began to rapidly decline. Phineas stayed by her side — right up until her last breath at 12:30 AM this morning, four years to the day that we lost her sweet sister Opal (Part 4/5…)
