It was one of Obama’s first EOs in Jan 2009. The EO directed it closed within one year. A few months later Congress voted to keep it open with several Democratic senators supporting keeping it open - the most high profile being Sen Inouye of Hawai’i.

I use a moderation list called Blue Anon by @skysentry.bsky.social - it does great at filtering that crap out. They have another list with the red equivalent that does equally well. Generally I’m not a fan of blocking acts someone else picked but those lists have made my experience so much better.

I love your show and hate to hear you’re leaving and the reasons why. I totally get it. I looked at all your replies and believe I saw your responses to some problem posts. Those posts were all blocked for me.
