Software engineer working on publishing tools, often related to DITA / DITA-OT. I tend to read a lot more than I post...
Finally had the camera ready for the backyard friend. The stare down lasted ages and I'm not sure who won.

Recently followed a starter pack of photographers, and I'm seeing so many birds now that I should probably share a recent one of my own. One of three young ouwls that hatched this year in a single nest, still making appearances around the neighborhood.

Also, as should be traditional for early posts, my cat.

Fun fact: when clouds near #portaransas are running out of water, they send down a straw to pull up extra from #lagunamadre

Imagining my thoughts if I heard 10 years ago, "in 2021 you'll fill the kids' tub with snow for flushing"

1: Kids?

13,179,398: guess I'm moving back home to Texas
...
2^458: Guess I'd better hang on to that roof rake after all

There is *so much doom* to scroll through.

But snow in #ATX has been the best distraction so far.

Why ... why would we travel for Thanksgiving

If we stay home, we stay safe, and have the couch to ourself
November 14, 2024 at 5:52 AM
ok, well, cats done

It's been a longer than usual work week and even though it's not quite over I felt that a happy cat would make it better.

As a Texas Kitty, we wanted to get this one started early on riding lessons.

I'd give him an A+ for enthusiasm, but his technique needs work.

See, what we have here, is what's commonly known as a "slinky-cat"

This year has largely been ... well, 2020.

But these two cute little brothers are providing a nice bright spot to the summer. (No, they're not usually this calm.)

Excited for some new things ahead!

To those who follow my work on #ditaxml, yes, I'm still going to be involved with OASIS and #ditaot ...

And that's a wrap on #ditaotday 2019. Thanks to @georgebina and @radu_coravu for organizing, to the sponsors for sponsoring, to @infotexture and @jelovirt for running this project with me, and especially to the attendees! https://twitter.com/robander/status/1191371466094370817

I've commented before about how hard it is to define "content reuse".

Here @georgebina gives one definition at #ditaotday

Amazing things happen in Helsinki in January #ditaotday

Uh oh @jelovirt I thought we weren't supposed to reveal this part #ditaotday
November 14, 2024 at 5:53 AM
#ditaotday @radu_coravu shows a plugin to embed HTML and XSL-FO directly in a DITA topic. Pretty sure that's some sort of heresy but also pretty nifty

Pleased with my last minute addition to the Halloween decorations

2 important takeaways from @radu_coravu restructuring talk at #cmsconference :

1. Everyone should have @georgebina introduce them at their session
2. I should hire Radu's graphical artist to illustrate my slides
November 14, 2024 at 5:53 AM
I may be biased, but I think the view from the #ditaotday conference room is worth the price of admission.
