I'm in TX 18. Our rep died in March and Abbott didn't bother calling an election to replace him until November. There were 17 candidates to replace him and nobody got 50%, so there's a runoff in January.

By the time the winner is seated I'll have gone without representation for almost a year.

I don't *have* a representative, thanks Greg Abbott. >:-(

Took me a second.

Amazing performance. Clare Torry had to sue, but she eventually got a songwriting credit.

(Also, when I saw Floyd live, it took three backup singers to do what she did solo.)

I saw Floyd on their big comeback tour in '88 and when they played Wish You Were Here I could hear everybody in Three Rivers Stadium singing along. It felt like I was surrounded by 50,000 of my best friends.

And the songs that she sang in the shower all ring in my ears

I bring up retrophrenology sometimes and people generally don't get it.

Friend's mom came home from her college job and said a "Christian rock band" was playing on campus that night and tickets were available. Was she interested? She said no thanks.

The band was U2.

A year later Sunday Bloody Sunday came out and they weren't playing college auditoriums anymore.

I could move to New Mexico but it'd be a long commute.

Years ago my wife and I were out buying groceries. It had just rained and the sky was covered with low clouds, and the sunset lit them up like the second picture you posted.

It was amazing.

People were walking past us in the parking lot and we wanted to shake them and say "LOOK AT THE SKY!!!"

I think there were two that looked not-terrible but yeah, most of them were right-wing posturing. Vote 'em all down.

But now it's illegal *and* unconstitutional!

Here in Houston the 17-way election to fill Sylvester Turner's congressional seat goes to a runoff, which means that even *if* Johnson deigns to seat the winner we won't have representation until February.

You could rest a beer bottle on 'em.
