Still have some colorful foliage in Pittsburgh

My best friend was gifted a floor loom and she gave it to me. I know how to weave but have never set one up. I’ve seen a few videos but am more interested in what weight of yarn, where to buy it and how much would I need for 3 - 5 foot scarves 12 inches wide.
