Maybe lottery protected? OKC is really in a trade it or lose it type scenario with a couple of these picks it feels like. So they’re probably hoping for a like pick 2-3 years out with some upside to land slightly higher for the trouble.

Agree that it feels like more a Dallas/Luka issue than anything the Lakers did, but “kudos to Dallas for avoiding the bidding process” is backwards. Dallas should’ve welcomed a bidding process.
