Yeah. I still flirt with the idea of another Corvette, from time to time, but I'd just really prefer something with a fixed roof and something that's a bit more supported/easier to work on. (And something that'd be less problematic if I, say, put it into a barrier on a track).

Thanks! 😊👍

The cab is made from the taxi donor, too (and uses the doors, glass, etc.), and there's a lot of of the original structure under there. Engine and drivetrain, too.

That's an ownership box I'd like to tick one day. 😎👍

You and me both! 😂

I was just going to say...

(And I hope it doesn't prove problematic, in that respect!)

I know, right? I don't think I would have ever reached that conclusion.

Here's the answer: this is what lurks beneath – a Carbodies Fairway Taxi. Yup.

Quite the transformation, no?

The full build (and, buried in there somewhere, the answer to your challenge question) is on Paul Bacon’s grossly underrated YouTube channel.

Here’s an early episode of that series: youtu.be/7ZUVwWt3_tk?...

(I'd like to put one in a C4, but they're just so difficult to get hold of here. An LS is cheaper, annoyingly.)

Small car, mad engine. Always a great combo. 😁

I like the LFX. Interesting – I just had a look and a company called Keisler does a kit. Brochure hits all the right notes!

Relocates rack, moves mounts forwards, etc. About $20k all in.

(Have seen LS-powered ones, too, but they take up more space, etc.)

I mean, if we're going in, let's go *all* in...

😁😂

Would that be feasible? You for sure know better than I, but although the subframes are interchangeable, I don't think the RX-8's bulkhead would clear a conventional 4, let alone a wider six, in an OEM-ish position. You'd have to hack it to bits, or move the engine forwards, which might spoil it?
