Wet walnuts - best treat of the season. Once I start I can't stop. They're like tiny fresh little autumn brains.

The bird bath is cracked and won't hold water, so I've put a bowl on the patio nearby. This pigeon has been looking at me expectantly for several minutes now. I don't think he's going to figure it out for a while...

Fivefingers again? They have been around a long time. This was me breaking the style barrier in 2010.

@support.bsky.team Can we have an option to clear Chat notifications please? Without age verification, which I'm not doing, I can neither read the message nor turn off DMs, so the notification cannot be cleared.

Does everyone else in the UK have these little record cards? The old one shows I had the measles vaccine in 1971 so presumably enough for life, but it turns out I'm overdue for a couple of boosters - Hepatitis A and Diptheria/Tetanus/Polio, which I guess I should sort out at some point.

BBC have literally cut the listing for #Kneecap on the iPlayer West Holts feed. This is beyond pathetic. #Glastonbury

It's busy season on the sunflower heart feeder. This family of tits are back and forth all day.

Fortunately the old build-it-yourself Cooper's manual mower still does the job, more or less. Smart-scruffy is about as good as it gets here anyway. #gardening

I always feel a greater keenness for #poetry at this time of year, and particularly at the moment for that of John F. Deane. Delicate rhythms, stark beauty and occasionally a sense of some fleeting & almost impossible grandeur just out of the corner of your eye.

Drive *around* the roundabout?? Who's got time for that!?

I took a screenshot of this because I knew in advance it would lead to a block. The press in this country will happily chat & joke with far-right Tories & Reform all day long as long as they make it 'polite' but will take huge offence when the left point out the damage it does.

Caught the robin having a bath today. Spideog: small chubby masterpiece, to quote John F. Deane. He's a bit of a tyrant this one, always trying to scare the other birds off the feeder, although they do seem to get their turn eventually.

We had snow, but it's melting already. This was at 2am, when it more or less peaked.

Help me out here please bsky - what is this name? Looks like Erykala, but there's no search results for that, which is a bit odd.

Has anyone had success with gardenia on a windowsill? This one is already turning brown-leaved and sad. #gardening
