You're right. I'll own it. Wasn't intended as misinformation.
Just bad math and righteous indignation over the obscenity of it all

The math is the math.
Net worth of $466B-$8.1B
It's 1.7% of his current net worth, not including his new trillion dollar "contract"

Elon Musk has the ability to eradicate poverty throughout the world.
If he gave $1B dollars to every one of the 8.1 billion people, he would still have 98% of his wealth.

The 2025 version of "A Christmas Carol"
November 21, 2025 at 3:07 PM
8.1 billion people on earth. Elon could give every person on the planet $1B and it would cost him less than the percentage any individual in America pay in taxes.

He wasn't even wearing a tie.

If you could have a word with the Grim Reaper??
November 19, 2025 at 11:32 AM
It has to pass the House again.
November 17, 2025 at 12:53 AM
I dont think that's where they're pulling from.
November 16, 2025 at 3:43 AM
I dont believe for a minute that someone as bright as @chrismurphyct.bsky.social
is "understanding" why his colleagues wanted to end the shutdown, when it's clear that they were carefully chosen for the least impact on their re-election.
This was a party decision all the way and it sucks.
November 14, 2025 at 7:17 PM
Don't get me wrong. Everything I've seen from Ted Lieu says he's one of the good ones, but frankly, he wasn't chosen for this. All eight aren't facing elections for years or are retiring.
November 10, 2025 at 8:53 PM
63 year old me agrees with you wholeheartedly
November 10, 2025 at 3:34 PM
Absolutely 💯
November 10, 2025 at 12:42 PM
I think it likely that, except for Fetterman, the other 7 drew the short straws. Probably those with the lowest potential downside for elections.
November 10, 2025 at 3:36 AM
I'm going to remember (and frankly, likely steal!)this line.
Yeeted! 🤣🤣
November 10, 2025 at 3:26 AM
Fetterman has been a republican since his stroke

Because all the Russian assets are still fighting the cold war

Steve Vladeck did a great substack on that. Jackson issued it but it essentially has a very short expiration date to force rapid action so it doesn't sit there for months.
She did what she could to keep Trumps cronies on the SC from tabling it indefinitely.

Uzbekistan economy. Please help me understand how they will give us 30% of their nominal GDP?
November 7, 2025 at 12:30 PM
Right? We dont pay state tax per se, however, everything we buy is taxed to the brim by the state, making the effective tax much higher overall.
November 7, 2025 at 12:21 PM
Who thinks he'll listen to the SC any more than he listens to any other court?
They already granted him immunity.
November 7, 2025 at 12:10 PM
Talk about wasteful spending.
November 7, 2025 at 12:07 PM
This is 2025, so 22 years. Yes. Same information.
November 7, 2025 at 12:04 PM
They said since 2003. 22 years. Exactly
November 7, 2025 at 12:02 PM
The problem is that the real ICE is doing the same thing.
