Alcohol doesn't just damage your liver - it can also inhibit the ability of immune cells to function and change how your genes are transcribed. Liz Kovacs (@rnamama.bsky.social), PhD, professor of GITES surgery, discusses the negative effects of alcohol. #AlcoholAwarenessMonth
Negative Effects of Alcohol Can Be Magnified in Older Adults
People older than 60 are more likely to binge drink and more apt to suffer negative effects from alcohol due to age-related changes in the body.

Grants get rejected if they are not the highest quality.
Intramural research groups get closed down if they receive bad reviews.

The US should be EXPANDING its investment in science to grow these important and high-quality NIH programs, not killing then.

The Senate will vote tomorrow on whether RFK Jr will lead HHS.

For this final 24 hours we are asking you to call/visit/email your Senators and DEMAND a NO vote on RFK Jr.

Kennedy's views on science and medicine are not only wrong, they are actively harmful and destructive.
A Note on Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
