So so many reasons to do it

Terrible
November 10, 2025 at 10:00 PM
They kind of come together
November 10, 2025 at 10:00 PM
And they would
November 10, 2025 at 9:58 PM
I am not
November 10, 2025 at 9:58 PM
Please explain!
November 9, 2025 at 9:02 PM
Correct. They had huge potential and were ahead of cities like Ottawa.
November 9, 2025 at 8:58 PM
I don't think so. The project has a lot of issues, and is generational, so they are going to be a drag for decades.
November 9, 2025 at 8:57 PM
Long list I'd say
November 9, 2025 at 8:57 PM
The costs are not lower on the whole, and the spaces are hardly more open
November 9, 2025 at 8:56 PM
No, I don't have time tbh. It may be the case that thats why, though I think most of the why is already covered by the Transit Costs Project
November 9, 2025 at 8:55 PM
Quite possibly
November 9, 2025 at 8:54 PM
Edmonton's legacy system is not what Hamilton is going to be getting
November 9, 2025 at 8:54 PM
Thats just because they are using Azur trains now . . .

This feels like the type of thing that if taken onboard would likely unveil that the doors do provide the benefits seen all over the world, and perhaps that TTC could get the cost down with a scaled up plan. (Compared to the previous very high price, out of line with other places.)
November 9, 2025 at 8:53 PM
That's just ridiculous! At least three of the cities I mentioned have very busy rapid transit lines and stations, and often with less breathing room than larger, newer systems in Asia.
November 9, 2025 at 2:55 AM
IIRC its been cut, or isn't actually "locked in"? I.e. subject to funding being available, or not being used for inevitable cost overruns?
November 9, 2025 at 2:55 AM
Yes, but also rail
November 9, 2025 at 2:54 AM
So yeah that's my point, the Green line was not a great project to begin with, and now has become totally wacky.
November 9, 2025 at 2:54 AM
For sure we've seen similar, but the prospect of it being fixed down the road is there. Less clear in AB
November 9, 2025 at 2:53 AM
And its a pretty bad buildout
