My grandmother taught us when someone says something u believably offensive, feign that you didn’t hear them and say “what did you say?”
They’ll either double down and say it again (and then you know who they are) or they’ll back down “oh nothing” and you’ll know they knew it was wrong.

I don't know anyone who doesn't have their own story or more. It doesn't diminish the individual pain but makes the realization that those who protect, support and enable the behavior to continue harder to bear. So when we see it so publicly done, it twists the knife.

~8, sent on an errand from 1 teacher to the only male teacher who asks in front of his 5th graders 'do you want to go on a date? What are you doing Saturday night?' You are afraid but don't know why bc everyone else laughs. Suspicion of all adults & what they want creeps in.
