also a big part of the reason Bel is so effeminate is that in my headcanon, Menzoberranzan Drow elevate femininity in their culture, not masculinity. so emulating femininity is the highest social indicator for a man, along with the implications about class and wealth (maintenance is expensive).

my one question about the Fallout TV series is:
how are you in the military stationed in a highly irradiated desert full of actual monstrous fauna for literally years and you don't automatically look inside your boot and shake it out every morning before putting it on?
