hello to whoever in GMC HQ is trawling my personal website 👋

if you want copies of everything I've written about you I'd be delighted to supply it all, just ask 😘

Wasn't 100% expecting the GMC to erase David Cartland off the register, but broken clocks twice a day or something

I was at Auschwitz yesterday. Happened to take this photo, not realising I’d be seeing it 24h later in Trump’s latest hate campaign: I see Trump has decided being a fascist and a nazi is OK again.

Utterly incensed by Trump’s behaviour towards Zelensky yesterday, I am writing to my MP, Starmer and the King to implore them to rescind Trump’s invitation of a State Visit to the UK, and I ask you to do the same. Trump’s capitulation to fascism is not welcome in Scotland, or in the UK.

Excellent, thanks.

English and Welsh police forces will be able to prosecute folks for owning "signal jammers": www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Here is my VSG60A and FT817. These could easily be used to jam nearby devices. But I'm not a criminal, so I don't do that. Yet possessing them will now be a crime?

NHS Education for Scotland (NES): "we've giving doctors a maximum of £200 to attend a conference".

NES directors: easily blow more than that on 1x mileage claim alone.

If you're applying to GP / Family Medicine training in the UK, you have to tick a box to state you have access to a vehicle. Or that you'll pay to hire one 🤡

There is not a single major store where I can now buy groceries, where I’m not effectively forced to sign up to a membership scheme and therefore hand over all my purchase history.

I want to be able to shop in private.

This cannot be considered “freely given” consent in collecting my data.

There's something about these "Full Body MRI Cancer Screenings" that is particularly ghoulish and predatory.

I've reported this company in particular to the Advertising Standards Agency, as well as Trading Standards; quick write-up here: rmacd.com/med/phoenix-...

Alas, having undertaken an internal review, I got their reply earlier this week: quelle surprise, in that the GMC persist in their belief that the public is not entitled to this information.

Needless to say, a complaint has been lodged with the ICO.
October 9, 2024 at 5:49 PM
It is my argument that public interest very much outweighs the GMC's desire to hold these updates behind closed doors.

The GMC are making decisions which have an impact on patient safety.

We need to know what evidence they are considering and using to make these decisions.

Anyway we are now nearly three months down the line and they are refusing to hand over the presentation.

Reasons given in the original response include that it "would prejudice, or would be likely to prejudice, the effective conduct of public affairs" and "inhibit free and frank exchange of views".
October 9, 2024 at 5:43 PM
On 19/07/2024 I submitted an FOI request to the GMC, for a copy of a presentation relating to MAPs. This had been held as a "confidential session".

I like October. Strange morning light, fields turning barren.

doesn't seem right.

glasgow uni giving £198k to a company for a "virtual museum tour" and then stating that only one company was invited to take on the project for "technical reasons"?

I'm quite a fan of bridges. Who doesn't like a good bridge? Anyway here are some photographs I took of the Woodrow Wilson Memorial Bridge. Elegant much.

@gmcuk Back in Sep '23 [1], the plan was to hear this agenda item in public. Skip to Apr '24 though [2], and the Forward Work Programme has moved the item to a Confidential Session.

What gives?

July 18, 2024 at 10:58 PM
@gmcuk Full and fair disclosure: items re MAPs appear in public session later in the year ... but this stinks.

No good reason for you to hide in the dark.
July 18, 2024 at 7:42 PM
Hi @gmcuk.

Given growing public and professional interest in your proposed regulation of Medical Associate Professionals, surely public scrutiny would be most welcome?

Why are updates re MAPs being held behind closed doors?

Who do you think you...

GMC risk log, as at 06/06/2024. "Critical".
Keep up the pressure.

This FOI response by ESHT is a gleaming example of pure unadulterated obfuscation 💩

They say "a PA would never cover a doctor's shift" and yet, their day-in-the-life promo suggests otherwise?
