Hyper-local journalist. Unbutterable. May behave in a weedy manner.
My favourite fluffy knits right now are the Garden Cardigan I made this spring and the Sophie Hood. The cardigan gets daily wear in the current weather; I love the granny vibe the colour gives it, and it feels super fluffy, even if the fluff doesn't show so much in the pic. #ShowMeYourKnits

This is Max, not the smartest of cats, but definitely the sweetest. He was the most loveable doofus. He loved butter, and was not very good at judging his jumps, which led to a number of "maxidents" often involving knocking breakable objects off surfaces.

This is just inexcusable. No one on the production team looked at this graphic illustrating "Knitting uses 2 needles" and had a momentary thought "maybe we could use a better graphic and not use AI"? #GameofWool

Yay, WIP week! I am creeping along with the colourwork sleeve for my Snow Sweater. #ShowMeYourKnits

Current horror story: 3 colour colourwork on sleeves on a knit using 2 strands of yarn for every colour. That's 6 balls! What was I thinking?
Previous horror story: left my fave mitts in the pockets of a coat I donated.

I don't wear socks, so the only ones I ever knit are gifts. These ones are in a really nice mohair sock yarn from Whistlebare, and they were for my lovely sister-in-law who had very kindly received my inkle loom and shipped it to me from the US. #ShowMeYourKnits

The project top of mind for me this week for care in knitting is the Emotional Support Chicken I knit for work. I had a couple students last week who were super nervous before a big event and trying to hold it together, and they both took advantage of the offer to hug the chicken. #ShowMeYourKnits

I just finished my blanket yesterday, so my WIP is just a tiny wee starting triangle of a Sophie hood in the new colour of Isager Soft. it's really hard to get the actual colour to photograph - it's lavender, but it does tone quite grey, which I actually love. #ShowMeYourKnits

For Sweater week I picked Mayu by Espace Tricot because it's the most successful and loved sweater I made for my kid. I first made one in 2017, and he loved and wore it so much I had to make a new one a couple years ago after it wore out. This is version 2. #ShowMeYourKnits

Okay, look. If I am honest, this is my favourite striped sweater, but there's a reason it's called "Unphotogenic Boxy" in my projects. #ShowMeYourKnits

Perfect pool afternoon.

Scrap projects, you say? This one is on my needles right now! Sweet Shop Blanket by Laura Penrose, and perfect for making a dent in the massive pile of minis and leftovers. #showmeyourknits

Happy Birthday #ShowMeYourKnits! Love the inspiration and the vibe here so much. This is absolutely the moment to post one of my faves from the last year which is Human Expression of Fairy Bread. Pattern is Calliope from Espace Tricot, and the yarn is Bubble Wand from Sweet Georgia.

The Merry Maidens in Cornwall earlier this month. Gorgeous day, no one there but me and my 2 friends, and we just sat with them and enjoyed feeling their place in the landscape. #StandingStoneSunday

I don't do a lot of summer knits, but I have been getting a lot of wear out of this Lillesol I finished on holiday. #ShowMeYourKnits

This is definitely my favourite cowl, although I hardly ever wear it now I live in a warmer city. #ShowMeYourKnits. Yarn is Cashmere Silk by Tanis and so warm!

Love a good blanket! #ShowMeYourKnits. The Stornaway Throw in Noro is Mr Knightley's favourite, and I enjoyed the colours of the Library blanket I made as a housewarming gift for @foddy.net.

What’s on my needles is the second sleeve of my Garden cardigan. I am trying really hard to get it off! #ShowMeYourKnits

The real question is, do we ever knit anything that isn't at least a little bit purple? #ShowMeYourKnits

Making substantial progress on my Garden Cardigan for Old Lady Spring. Just about to start the ribbing, with little help from Mr Knightley. #ShowMeYourKnits

Miss Babs' DK Yowza was the perfect yarn for this Classic sweater by Espace Tricot. #ShowMeYourKnits

Human Expression of Fairy Bread is a beaded sweater I made that celebrates the artisan wizards of Sweet Georgia Yarn, which is arguably both my LYS and local indie dyer. BFL+Silk DK in Bubble Wand. #ShowMeYourKnits. Necklace by @peculiarityshop.bsky.social.

I actually do a lot of gift knitting because I feel like making people things is a way to show them love, and that you are thinking about them. I made this blanket for a dear friend who was far away and needed a hug. #ShowMeYourKnits

One of my favourite grey knits is this version of the Alaska hat I made with yarns from a Colourmart set. I like that it has a feel of a foggy morning. #Showmeyourknits
