Germany and the EU generally are well into alternatives to fossil fuels, way ahead of the US. Big Oil owns politicians so we suffer pollution, wasteful subsidies and fall further behind. Expect nuclear to come alive because of the enormous need for electricity to power data farms, quantum computers.
