I think it’s a highly simplified process - they identified a spectrum signature for arsenic using optical spectroscopy and then built a tool that uses that signature to automatically analyze & give an instant result (“safe” vs “toxic”). There’s more info here: stemforbritain.org.uk/posters2025/...
