Wealthy humans will adapt. The others … maybe not so much.

No, we’re choking on a possible 3C of warming by the time our kids get old. That’s almost 6F. That’s going to be very ugly.

Lots of ways… here’s a jarring example. There are 10m motorboats averaging something like 2mpg in the US. Assuming just 100 hours of use/yr at 25kn. is 1250 gallons or 10 tons of Co2. Motorboats are pushing up the average for everyone.

He gave a great talk on the history of energy, at the end of which he shared his concerns about climate change. But zero mention of ideas to prevent further warming, except to say that he’s against mandates. Then again, his company provides 15% of the fracked gas in America today, so there’s that.

I’m not a researcher, but when I worked at Friends of the Earth, we sued epa over localized impacts of lead from small aircraft aviation fuels around airports. EPA is now forced to regulate small aircraft fuel/lead admissions. It seems pretty likely that PAHs and other contaminants are localized too

Exactly right! We just premiered a film on this at the Telluride film festival. Seeking distribution but hopefully streaming soon. variety.com/2024/film/re...
