X released 4 albums 1980-983. The Los Angeles band played live regularly at The Troubadour, The Whiskey, The Starwood, and others. I enjoyed the energy and freedom of the shows. "The New World" is so spot on it's painful for me. Here is "Johny Hit and Run Paulene" live: youtu.be/HbGEjpokbME?...

1981-1984 The Minutemen release The Punch Line, What Makes a Man Start Fires?, Double Nickels on the Dime, Buzz or Howl Under the Influence of Heat, and The Politics of Time. The San Pedro band rose out of the SoCal punk rock scene on their terms—punk, rock, jazz, unique. youtu.be/ByiEnkXfDUw?...

An incredible three album period for the band Wire. Pink Flag, Chairs Missing, and 154. Released 1977-1979, the creativity and talent exploded. The 1979 live document (youtu.be/AhtYeJXNNbU?...) at Rockpalast is a highlight of modern music. A cavern of live, demo, less-produced material exists.

For me, an incredible five album run 1992-1995. Guided By Voices: Propeller, Vampire on Titus, Bee Thousand, Alien Lanes, and Under the Bushes Under the Stars. And there were amazing singles and EPs released in this time frame.
