Of course some people believe that posting the 10 Commandments will help instill more respectful, obedient behavior in children. They’re deeply wrong but they believe it.

It’s a comfortable, reassuring world view that cannot be disproven because faith is faith.

Well done, Cory. Really well done. 👏👏👏.

Indeed. That’s why my brand new washer and dryer has buttons and dials. No screens.

Interesting. 5-for-5, you’re grading the Admin. as “good idea, badly implemented.” Of course, the implementation IS the policy (the idea is just a talking point), so that all adds up to an F. But politely presented . . .

Agreed (I checked out a few months ago). And for me, Thiessen became uninteresting several years ago.

Darn. I’ve already cancelled WSJ and Washington Post. So I’ll keep these guys but really . . .
February 19, 2025 at 6:00 AM
Correct. I already find myself tuning in to BBC more often. And I almost subscribed to a Canadian newspaper but I haven’t done that yet.

Fully agreed. Europe, Australia, etc. have the capability to enable Ukraine to win. And in the process, make it clear that the U.S., under Trump, had become irrelevant to the outcome. That would be sad all around but America Alone is America Alone.

Embarrassing indeed. Smart guy, rich guy, posting simpleton content. I don’t get it.
February 16, 2025 at 9:59 PM
So far, they would probably say “yes,” because nothing bad has happened to them yet. They’ve avoided punishment by Trump and they may have lost some self respect but that doesn’t seem to be troubling them. They will care at some point but only when things get much much worse.
February 16, 2025 at 9:58 PM
Correct. I’ve got no problem with unwinding some of the procedures and bureaucracy that have developed. But the Trump team and his oligarchs seem clueless about society and what we went through to get here. There’s hell to pay if they keep going down this road.

Once again, social media Democrats organize a circular firing squad. I don’t know what happened with the vote, but I think every single response to this post is dunking on Ro about the vote. You think RO is the problem? Give me a break. Aim the right direction.
February 7, 2025 at 5:21 AM
And Elon gave you the old “Don’t be a dick” clapback over on X? That’s pretty hilarious. I’m surprised he fit it into his busy schedule.
February 5, 2025 at 5:35 PM
Cory, thank you for “liking” this post. I have a lot of sympathy for Democratic politicians trying to respond to the onslaught. We’re counting on you.

Greetings also from Roble Hall, 1970’s. 😀.

I’m not a fan of originalism, but an intellectually honest version would have some integrity. The problem is it is now used by a Court that simply argues to a desired outcome. I can predict Supreme Court decisions without reading the Constitution, so . . . that’s not originalism.

Hey, credit where credit is due. Her office has learned something. They have written a statement of concern without using the word “concern.” 🙄.

“PAT25 has traffic in sight.” Oh my gosh. Student error apparently. I once took flight lessons; things happen fast.
January 30, 2025 at 6:53 AM
Correct. Did the helicopter pilot not see the plane? That seems the only explanation. Fatal civil aviation accidents are so rare that each of them becomes hard to explain but this one is just weird.
January 30, 2025 at 5:43 AM
Understood. I didn’t say they were persecuted; there was lots of public health logic to the policy. My point was that restrictions on public gatherings and cancelling in-person school did involve a definite downside (harm). But wearing a mask? That’s trivial. People wouldn’t even do THAT??
January 29, 2025 at 7:32 PM
I was astonished by the anti-mask movement. I can understand why people objected to schools and bars being closed because there was a real downside. But fighting hard to not wear a mask? Refusing to accept responsibility for keeping other people safe? It was so disappointing.

This is not an issue of me being limited in what I can say. This is an issue of alienating millions of middle Americans who feel like they are being policed and condescended to. I’d rather win elections than refine the language.
January 29, 2025 at 5:35 AM
Wow. By not pushing back at all they consent to being irrelevant. There are so many ways they could report the story accurately but still sling some crap back. But no . . . it’s more important to be politely subservient. Mission accomplished, I guess.
