DOJ needs more independence, like the Federal Reserve Board or Post Office.
When this is over, congress should replace the Federal AG with an appointed council which picks an AG. Not perfect, but better than what we have now.
Independent law enforcement would short circuit a lot of this shit.

If the house republicants vote to release the files, then the members of the oversight committee should have the votes to subponae the files.

I expect a pocket veto. They debate the bill until after the midterms, pass to white house with days left in session. Then it goes unsigned by the time the next congress starts.
