Right now he's suspended. Too early to say what will happen in the long run, or if he gets fired. But if he does, depending on what's in Kimmel's contract, he could potential sue ABC for breach of contract. We'll find out what happens in the coming days.

This is just a vote to bring the bill to the floor.
This does not guarantee that it can get through the senate. If Republicans don't play nice with allowing Amendments, Democrats can block the bill by not allowing Cloture to be invoked (limiting debate before final passage).

Just remember folks. That's just a vote to bring a bill to the floor of the senate. It also means their could be votes on Amendments. Democrats can still block the bill by denying cloture to limit debate, blocking a vote on passage of the bill.
