I got that washer and dryer in my divorce settlement and moved. Years later the dryer needed repair. The repairman was baffled why the lint trap had been neatly repaired with a piece of screen so I told him this story. The mouse got in through the too-low outside vent, chewed through the lint trap.

I lived on a farm, in an old house. I once opened my dryer to see a mouse running round and round. I shut the door and grabbed the nearest outside cat and tossed her in the dryer. Closed the door and waited. She knew the assignment.

Started at 12 when I had an Aussie teacher who turned us on to Dylan and other folk singers of the late 68s. Impact would have been from then until late 70s when being a mom became priority.

I’ve met her twice and emailed many times. The main theme of my emails has been pushing her to act with integrity but I think that’s impossible. She will say one thing, supposedly to reassure you, and then vote the opposite.

Your post reminded me that I was going to do that today. My goodness, that is the most crazy-making process ever. I technically qualify for a free shot -- diabetic but borderline so we'll see -- but I'm ready to bash my head against a wall. I did get an appointment for November 21.

Maybe scratch the whole “pursuit of happiness” phrase. It carries with it an individuality that implies “regardless of others.”
