Norway, one of the world's largest fossil fuel producers and exporters, published a new climate plan (NDC).

Here is a list of words that do not appear in the document: fossil, oil, exports, (natural) gas.

But apparently it was "informed" by the COP28 decision to transition away from fossil fuels 🤡

If you don't constrain fossil fuel supply, you create really strong incentives for producers to lock in high demand for as long as possible. In China, it's coal producers doing coal power plants. In the US, it's AI data centers and CCS.

So, the United States is simultaneously:

- Withdrawing from the World Health Organization
- Gutting its own public health apparatus
- Losing control of the bird flu epidemic
