I will never forget the quiet moment when a source on a story took me to this monument in Breezy Point. They lost so many neighbors that day. Secretaries at Canter. Traders. Firefighters. We looked out at the skyline and sobbed.

Izzy Patoka is announcing his run for #Baltimore Co Executive. I tracked down his third-grade class photo, where he is holding the sign next to his then-neighbor, the late Kevin Kamenetz. Kevin was the first Jewish Baltimore Co Exec;
Izzy is running to be the 2nd. www.thebanner.com/politics-pow...

I dropped my daughter at camp yesterday. This is the view on the way out. Summer camp was an important part of my life. It formed me in many ways. It’s been important to both my daughters. I can’t imagine what these parents are enduring.

Excellent addition to my education for my book, What Harriet Left Behind. When I read about history, I both understand our present moment better and feel optimistic we can get back on track, if only we have the will to do so. #booksky. @cameronmcw.bsky.social

Today I have been interviewing sources about segregation and rape. When doing that kind of work, it helps to have a beautiful view.
