JD's beloved* home state was built by immigrants - my great grandparents and kin. ohio cities were doubling in size every decade of the 19thC. we all know what was different about those immigrants from JD's POV. his white supremacy is a disgrace to our common roots.

as i understand it these riots were part of a longer, broader demographic and political transformation in sw OH (which became a hotbed for abolitionist Republicanism)
