I don't think this is a real concern. The incoming administration will be very active for people to just ignore it.

The bigger concern should be how politically engaged people can/will end up believing disinformation because of the current attention economy.

For what it's worth, he has won doing just that before!

The biggest problem for threads is the engagement bait algo, and downranking political content.

To be able to do this, Bluesky needs to be open: to ideas, to people. It can't be closed off like it has been before.

There's real momentum here this time. I hope it can fulfil that promise.

But if enough people leave?

It shifts the balance. Twitter/X becomes irrelevant, and Bluesky gets the chance to build something better.

A good, politically neutral platform where discourse actually works.

If only a small group of people leave Twitter/X for Bluesky, it does two things:

- Hands the platform over to extremists (I don't think it's all fascists, let’s be real).
- Turns Bluesky into a bubble of the worst kind.

Neither outcome helps.
