Also a reminder that the education division contributed significantly more in 2012, when the then Conservative-Lib Dem coalition near tripled university tuition fees (paid by significantly more people than for private schools)

Excellent chart from Deutsche Bank on rising gilt yields ahead of Reeves' budget: Speculation over fiscal rule changes (and extra borrowing) may have driven spreads.

But nothing out of the ordinary*. And but a whimper compared to Liz Truss's mini budget.
