Anyway, I can't stop thinking about this and how correct he was for saying it!!!

Did a cliff walk today (not Moher) and learned that I prefer looking at cliffs from a safe distance away.

The wind was so powerful I knew I could've been blown off of them. But those views?!?!?!

Eating a cafe next to W. B. Yeats' grave, and they actually have a vegan sausage roll so I can have it for a snack later.

Day 28: Sweeping and grand, her use of strings, folk, and massive sound stages against her ethereal voice make this an album suited for listening to with a candelabra and a breeze caressing curtains. For the moodiest of pop fans craving cinematic masterpieces. #MWE

Day 27: A sublime live album exemplifying Garner's virtuosity as a jazz pianist. The audience's thunderous applause bookends every song & when we finally hear Erroll speak on the final song "Erroll's Theme," it almost comes as a shock.

Oh, to have been present at this performance! #MWE

Day 26: Glitchy, toasted ambient techno takes its time unfolding over the hour plus album. It requires patience, with long track lengths ("Huone" the longest at 22:06), but the payoff from each piece to the entire work as a whole is worth it. Perfect music for the deep, bitter winter. #MWE

Day 25: Like a piano being plucked beneath a winter forest canopy, it feels like Ashikawa pulled the melodies straight from the air. Peaceful and gorgeous, the ambient textures of 'Still Way' have one foot in the distant past and the other keeping one firmly planted in the ever-changing moment. #MWE

Day 24: Techno-dream-pop underlaid with toasty percussion courses through this album. Ending on the titular track, the 12-track work moves from bobbable dance to quiet introspection, making it an album that finishes with a punctuation mark. Fans of Boards of Canada will like this. #MWE

Day 23: There is a force Fiona Apple is able to conjure through her songwriting that elicits numerous stories with every spin of her records. Raw, intense, and tender this album feels like it's spilling from your favorite corner bar, the sound beckoning you to come in and quietly rage with her. #MWE

Day 22: For a sound that resembles the more turbulent shadows of the dancefloor, the lyrics are more rooted in hope, a departure from their work in the '90s. Synth heavy with 80s leanings and a round, more open stage make me want to listen again on IEMs. "Lost" was particularly lovely. #MWE

Day 21: A major force in UK garage, house, and drum n bass, his self-titled album is emotive and at times plaintive music for the dancefloor. "Battle" remains a personal favorite of mine and while the album is 25 years old, it doesn't feel dated in the slightest. #MWE

Day 20: Infectious funk, house, and psychedelic melodies infuse Deee-Lite's debut album. By the time we get to the smash hit "Groove is in the Heart," we're deep into dancing and having as much fun as Towa Tei, DJ Dimitri, and Lady Miss Kier had while making it. It's a fantastic summer album. #MWE

Day 19: George Fitzgerald's 2010 remix of "Tell Me" breathed fresh life into Groove Theory's hit song. It's the only album the duo ever released, and 30 years hasn't shaken its smooth beauty. A very cool album that glides through a deceivingly effortless amalgam of R&B, hip-hop, and neo-soul. #MWE

Day 18: On their third studio album, the production duo created their most cohesive, complete body of work. Less ambitious than their previous albums, their sound is honed and assured here by following a similar blueprint, their production signature helping define music of the early 2000s. #MWE

Day 17: Dreamy, 60s inspired indie rock feels delicate and harsh all at once, showcasing how we as a society were on the cusp of something hopeful and revolutionary. Bookending the album with "Long was the Year" and "Dead the Long Year" is banner music storytelling. #MWE
February 18, 2025 at 12:39 AM
Day 16: Stunning vocals over such dreamy, introspective alternative rock exemplifies some of the best what the early-mid 2000s had to offer. As someone who loves vocal stylings and light weightedness to their alt rock, teenage me would've loved hearing '23.' #MWE
February 17, 2025 at 12:03 AM
Day 15: Experimental, discordant, and stunning in equal measure, 'Universal Consciousness' is transcendental. It's not just an album inspired by her time in India; it is instead the embodiment of all that she felt, which we, in turn, experience a fraction of through this 36 minute journey. #MWE
