If the rumours were true then Bayern wanted Trippier, who'd been having a poor spell (Everton & Chelsea especially), and Atletico Madrid wanted Wilson.
Not saying we should definitely have sold, squad was thin enough, but given PSR situation we needed the cash and now we wont get a fee for them.

Wouldn't be too surprised. If we're in a good position at Xmas, I'd hope we try and kick on though.

Aye, again goes back to mistakes made in January rather than the summer though. Don't think things could have played out any differently and given the circumstances I think they got the outgoings spot on. Kept our better players and brought in the necessary cash.

Definite mistakes made in January. Wilson and Trippier could have been moved on for a fee as well and we'll get next to nowt for them now.
But the summer window, I have no complaints with the outgoings, just wish we'd spent some of it.

Not so much that they were banking on it, probably would have preferred that it didn't happen, but with the clause it was a real possibility and had we sold Bruno there'd be no need to sell the others. Imagine we'd sold Minteh and Anderson back in May, then someone paid Bruno's clause as well?

I still think they were expecting Bruno to go. If that had happened, there'd be no point selling Minteh and Andrrson, definitely not both of them. But Bruno's expired that only gave them a month to shift someone else and everyone was scrapping round doing dodgy deals with each other.
