Dems have campaigned for "comprehensive immigration reform" for ages. The GOP has blocked that to maintain their ability polarize the electorate over immigration.

Still can't believe Trump gets away with saying he's trustworthy just by claiming convictions were fake. All of the smoke from his fraudulent practices, bankruptcies, and moral failings should have been disqualifying.

Have to wonder how long it will be before Trump decrees that all transactions with the government go through $TRUMP meme coin.

That claim will be belied by the increased premiums that many people see soon.

Don't know which sites you're referring to, but I've noticed degraded performance at waterqualitydata.us.

Thanks for the chuckle and nudge to be nice today. I have to say that I find it hard to do the same, given the number of climate deniers with power these days.

Trump likes lots of flow in showers too.

Didn't Trump promise the evangelicals they wouldn't have to vote anymore after 2024? It's such a chore to stay informed

What's the impact on precipitation in the Northern Hemisphere?

I noticed PH talking about lethality a lot, but missed the replacement part you're mentioning. Can you suggest a source please?

He wrote that back in 2021, before the big warmup in 2023-24.

There's definitely plenty to worry about. Trump might be willing to go to any lengths, but I certainly hope some of the Republican Members of Congress would come to their senses before if gets that far. The military splitting seems plausible as well.

I think they were referring to the level of violence to expect. Rather than pitched battles between militaries, we might see regular bombings and assassinations. BTW, our conflict goes back almost 200 years. Trump is a neo-Confederate who's taking control of the Union.

I've heard suggestions that the US could be facing a period like "the troubles" in the UK.

Check out Lisa Graves commentary on Chief Justice Roberts on @legalafmtn.bsky.social . She argues he was a political operative from the start. On top of that, there are 3 Justices who participated in stopping the FL recount in 2000!

The Founders didn't think they'd need to include that in the original Constitution or Bill of Rights. Seems like we'll need to pass an amendment to get that right recognized nowadays.

Some say it's theater intended to condition the publiic and make their opposition feel threatened by the possibility of lawless violence, like Kristi Noem's visit to Chicago and CECOT.

In the past, we could be certain that there would be a path out of this. Now, we just have to hope and keep up courage.

Yes, that is crazy, but it sure seems like SCOTUS wants that. It seems to believe that only it can enjoin POTUS. Glad to see lower courts still fighting back.
