I'm honestly not sure how they reacted to it, or how much of it they even really saw since they mostly stuck to the suburbs.

A big problem is that the slogan is more a reassurance for wealthy elites than a vision of shared prosperity. If our society is a building then we all must reside within. Letting people fly above it results in lawless, reckless disregard for its occupants and immunity from its justice.

The worst thing is they feel comfortable confessing because they don't fear consequences, and with good reason

I can only assume that the main lesson budding journalists are taught is that Access is more important than anything. Ethics, dignity, truth... none of these matter. Maintain Access at all costs.
