"Play the game" is effectively, "follow the social rules and act like everyone else." For ND folks, that's just masking. It's exhausting, but I've found it sometimes necessary to get ahead in professional environments. It absolutely shouldn't be that way, but it often is.

In my experience, that's basically how that translates. Someone who doesn't know/acknowledge their own neurodivergence speaks in NT language while operating with ND actions labeled to fit a NT world view.

One. Just one.

I never sent a postcard. I bought and received a few and collected them, but I never actually put one in the mail.

Not with 4 cats and two snake-hating females in the house, it's not! 😂

Always wanted a pet snake as a kid, but Mom wouldn't let snakes in the house.

And just for shits and giggles, management informs me that I'm being kicked out of my office and being moved across campus. So now I've got to pack up my office and move right in the middle of all this.

My Mac management solution got held up all summer by other teams and now I've got to hop around campus manually adding systems in between classes. And the asset management team can't even definitively tell me where all the labs are. And there's still faculty Mac's to deal with after that.

Windows imaging keeps throwing random hash verification errors, but only when I'm not looking. Files are fine on the server, but I think packets are dropping in transmission. But it's so sporatic I can't find enough proof to actually blame the network team.

One of my AppStream fleets is bumping up against a service quota and students can't get to instances. Which means several professors standing on my desk screaming. And AWS is just taking their time to increase the quota.

And my new AppStream image won't capture. AWS says "nothing on our side".
