Proud Jew who loves; my family, my friends, bicycling, hiking, studying Talmud, moral values NOT political parties, people who care and want to make a difference, and did I mention the Red Sox?
You are deliberately missing the point to score some sort of “victory” like this is some video game. The point is only that the actual human beings in Gaza are not and have not yet experienced famine. The actual human beings in Sudan are experiencing famine and have been for some time.

But every time you misuse the word famine, it is an insult to the people actually starving.

Words have meaning. Gaza is a horror to be sure. It is not a famine. It is not a genocide. Be concerned with the conditions in Gaza for sure. Or be concerned with the 100,000s of thousands who are starving in Sudan. Or both. Up to you.

But Chris, it is not whataboutism… which is a lazy argument in any event. I am asking why aren’t you concerned with actual people actually experiencing a famine right now?

People who are actually experiencing a bonafide famine right now and have been for months. What else could that have meant?

While you overemphasize a potential famine, actual human beings are starving in the Sudan in an ACTUAL famine. Why don’t you care about them?

Words have meaning, and genocide simply doesn’t apply to Gaza. It is horrible. But every horrible situation is not a genocide.

You mean in the Sudan? Or in China to the Uyghurs?
