If you win by a large enough margin it becomes very difficult for their schemes to work. We're already seeing that work in recent elections.

The doomer language isn't good, even if you're not telling people not to vote.

Even for "middle class" hobbies it's not even close. I used to race RC cars. I wasn't even a contender locally and it was real expensive.

I've heard horror stories of the expense of kids sports and activities outside of the school setting.

People sincerely believe their posts are having a real world impact. Hearing something contrary to that is deeply upsetting to a lot of people.

This is why people say the best thing you can do is call representatives, volunteer or get involved in local gov't. Posting won't move the needle.

I watch him on tiktok, bro, and dicking around is a totally valid passtime and that's what he's doing here.

Skipping over the part where the current iteration of the Republican Party *hates* Muslims and has taken real steps to make it hard for them to enter and stay in this country.

Right! The biggest threat to gitmo is someone at the Treasury Department forgetting to issue the yearly $4,085 rent check to the Cuban government.

Approvingly referencing the president responsible for what is universally regarded as the largest, most deadly, incompetent and expensive foreign policy fiasco in US history.

I've been 100% ebook for at least a decade. Before that I had lugged around roughly (by the end) 4,000 mass market paperbacks. Every book I'd read since age 11.

Moving into a studio apt ended all that and I donated them all. A sad day.

Only if he hangs out with the old man from the gas station. "Hey, remember that time I was an agent of Fate and and your life hung on the flip of a coin? Good times!"

TikTok has been flooded with Ella McCay ads. What's interesting is they provide literally zero idea as to what it's about.

I've seen easily 50 ads. I'm still clueless.

They don't belive it. They're just happy to swallow any nonsense as long as it irritates the libs.

and there's no one more stubborn than someone who's made a bad decision that everyone warned them against.

I watched it back then with my roommate and after a couple seconds of stunned silence we both broke into hard laughter and I actually fell off the couch because we both knew the entire country was going to lose its mind over this. Literally the best ending of any series, ever.

Is it me or does this response seem shady as hell? Like, they're doing everything thing they can to leave a certain impression without technically, lying.

They even get cute with it in the scene itself. The scene switches perspective in the same pattern over and over again. Shot of the door. Shot of the suspicious guy. Shot of the table, etc. Finally, a shot from Tony's POV. Rinse/Repeat until the final switch to Tony and that's when it goes black.

Not if you thought about it for, like, 1 minute. It's discussed multiple times, even.

In the last season Bobby, talking about getting whacked, "You probably don’t even hear it when it happens."

"unlimited free welfare"

Not only is this a flat out lie, the implication that *anyone* is living high on hog on welfare is ludicrous.

In their personal lives, of course poets, are famous for being Real Housewives levels of messy.

I'm confused. While it may not be true of every poem, being concise is usually considered a key element of what makes a poem a poem.

If it was Biden's fault why did the most recent $14 billion farmer bailout occur during Trump's first term, also?
December 9, 2025 at 8:30 PM
I know little about poetry but I do know that it focuses on being concise, organized and, finally, directly concerned with morality, empathy and every aspect of the human condition.

It's WILD you'd think those aspects are useless in any position where you need to communicate, esp about victims.

I took Latin for 5 yrs. It's a dead language.

Fast forward. I got into a good school bc I aced the verbal SAT. Why? Bc Latin is the basis of western langs, learning it greatly enhanced my understanding of language.

Don't dismiss something as not having value bc you don't see an obvious benefit.
