I don't agree with your characterization of Israel. But even taking that for granted, many peoples have successfully overcome oppression. Israel did not create Hamas anymore than Mexico or China created Donald Trump. Regardless, it doesn't excuse Palestinians electing and sustaining them imo.

Don't have the energy for this read right now. Just want to say I hope it includes the context that several if not all modern wars fought by democracies contain variations on this theme and that an excellent lesson for theocrats to take from Gaza is to not start shooting wars against democracies :-\
