Still means convincing our Beloved Overlords to give their friends a slight owwie.

Looking at the LNG saga, I'd expect to see JDAMs raining on Copenhagen before we get Berlin to budge. And I don't expect Paris to move much faster either.

Pretty sure at least the fine folks at Volkswagen and BMW would be just as upset at someone rummaging through their error reports.
December 26, 2025 at 2:12 PM
But will it stop them trying?
December 26, 2025 at 10:09 AM
Ooooh, a spare!
December 25, 2025 at 8:19 PM
Taking notes.
December 25, 2025 at 5:33 PM
As far as vehicles moving on land, yes. I think the one in your pic is the second largest of the series. If you want stuff that runs on its own power, you have to scale it down to the top end of tracked cranes.

And then the boat people come and laugh at you either way.
December 25, 2025 at 2:45 PM
Does it come with the occasional subtly visible (but unmentioned) coriolis effects, or no?
December 24, 2025 at 10:22 PM
Any bets on them ending up as a "Dynamite gun"-like interstage between chemical and coilguns?
December 24, 2025 at 5:40 PM
That comment gave me a cursed-ish idea: Baked wargaming models. You eat what you kill.
December 24, 2025 at 5:18 PM
I'm imagining one of the owners signing off on each of those reports for a cut like some kind of inverse triple-Garbo.
December 23, 2025 at 10:30 PM
Das War Thunder. Gaijin.

Wargaming's neck of the woods tended to steer clear of anything smoothbore and/or guided.
December 23, 2025 at 10:19 PM
Surely, the plugs should come packed with spicy lube? Y'know...just in case.
December 23, 2025 at 8:57 PM
Kinetic energy weapons without a muzzle flash twice their size are a effeminate liberal conspiracy.

Clearly.
December 23, 2025 at 6:56 PM
As an side on that last bit, the choice to make 30kt warship run off of diesel is certainly...a choice.
December 23, 2025 at 6:51 PM
Wouldn't be surprised if they just figured out a way to suffer the erosion.

Even with diesel, power generation is more a problem of installed capacity. The last few JDSF ships can at least cruise on electrical power alone, and all of a Zumwalt's drive went through a generator. Burke...not so much.
December 23, 2025 at 6:49 PM
I was talking about railguns specifically, since it's what the US "abandoned" a decade ago and Japan test fired off a ship this summer.

Can't say laser weapons were abandoned when they're basically being integrated into mainline ships.
December 23, 2025 at 2:11 PM
Japan didn't.

I think the major factor in the US giving up was that they didn't have a ship to put it on after CG(X) died and the Zumwalt was truncated to a non-class.
December 23, 2025 at 9:34 AM
So, boat nerds of a higher level...

How much do we like those 5" wing turrets?
December 23, 2025 at 12:20 AM
Curing Black Rage "Through the Power of Love!™"

One way or another, heads would pop.
December 20, 2025 at 5:09 PM
Pretty sure barely anybody bothered with the distinction until the 00s.

Hell, Austrian FALs were Sturmgewehrs.
December 18, 2025 at 2:46 PM
I'm chalking that up to "The west/US had just stopped pretending DMRs aren't a thing."
December 18, 2025 at 2:32 PM
Looks like reality really did peak in 1988.
December 16, 2025 at 6:54 PM
What if he had a Sea Dragon replica?
December 16, 2025 at 2:34 AM
Imagine having to camp in a weapons bay for a week because some dumbass flagged your fuel tank with their engine and now the Geiger counter in your actual hab section won't stop screaming.
December 13, 2025 at 10:22 PM
Well that's certainly an interesting reinterpretation of Blood on the Risers.
